There were 458 MFL tweets this week, but who made the top 10?

Firstly, huge congratulations on making it to the end of the year! And what a mad mad year it's been... Thankfully, MFL teachers are known for their generosity, and they're continuing to share their tips and resources throughout it all on Twitter.

But with thousands of MFL posts being shared on Twitter every month, where do you start looking? In this new blog post series, I'll be counting down the most popular MFL posts each week. This is entirely impartial, and based solely on the number of likes and retweets!

So - in order to give you as much inspiration as possible - as quickly as possible - let's find out who made the #MFLTop10 this week!

10. Miss Clark (@missclark_mfl)

Kicking us off at number 10 is Miss Clark, an up and coming PGCE student who shared some fab news with us just in time for the Christmas holidays. Make sure you send some MFL love and advice her way!

9. James Young ML (@JYHSModLangs)

In at number 9 this week is the Modern Languages department from the James Young High School from Livingston, West Lothian. The department shared a photo of this fab wall display, featuring examples of where languages can take you (no flights necessary!)

8. MissTripp (@Missktripp)

In at number 8 this week is Miss Tripp (@Missktripp), who shared a fantastic example of one of her year 7 Spanish students going above and beyond after her lesson. Impressive!

7. Ludi Jones (@ludi_jones)

In at number 7 this week is Ludi Jones, who provided us with this week's dose of (winter-themed) MFL comedy! One to share with your Spanish students when they come back!

6. Adeline Moston (@MadameMoston)

In at number 6 is Adeline Mostow's post about why students should learn foreign languages. We're all too familiar with this question (be it from students, parents or even SLT), so read through all the replies in preparation for the next time you're asked this question!

5. Esmeralda Salgado (@BotonesSalgado)

At the halfway point this week is Esmeralda Salgado, who celebrated the fact that her blog has reached a fantastic 27,000 views. This is an amazing milestone, and a testament to her writing and contributions to the MFL community. She notes that her most popular post is on ways to approach listening in MFL, so give that a read and subscribe to her blog!

4. Sophie Newnham (@MissNewnham)

In at number 4 this week is Sophie Newnham (@MissNewnham) who shared a really simple but effective planning grid to help students with the 90-word questions. This easy-to-make grid helps students to focus on bagging more content marks before language marks.

3. Jennifer Beattie (@nowMrsMFL)

In at third place this week is Jennifer Beattie (@nowMrsMFL) with her interactive classroom version of the new TV show "Winning Combination". This looks like a great way to help students revise language items by unit or category, rather than by individual items.

2. Pippa (@MrsWardMFL)

In second place this week is Pippa (@MrsWardMFL) who posted the most-shared resource of the week - and it's hardly surprising why(!) She's uploaded a whole half-term's worth of resources to a (searchable) Google Drive folder. A potential lifesaver for any PGCE students and NQTs, but also a fab example of inspiration sharing with qualified teachers too!

1. Frau Bastow (@SisaSilvia4)

And in at number 1 this week is Frau Bastow (@SisaSilvia4), who announced some great news just in time for the end of the school year. She's just been promoted to Research Lead in her school, so it's safe to say that we can expect lots more MFL research from her next year! Give her a follow to keep up with her ideas. Congratulations, Frau Bastow!
